Affordable Care Act

Open Enrollment for 2026 Insurance Renewals

Get Insurance In 2026

First off, we at Insurance Advantage would like to say “Thank You!” for choosing us to assist you with your Affordable Care Act (ACA) plan.  We understand that your health insurance is an important aspect of maintaining your health and financial security.

Open Enrollment for 2026 Insurance Coverage presents many new changes in the rules and plans – so we’re here to help!

And remember, Open Enrollment runs Nov. 1, 2025 until Jan. 15, 2026.

2026 Changes

2025 has been an interesting year to say the least.  With the new Administration, the passing of the Big Beautiful Bill, and changes to the tax credits that are scheduled to expire, this Open Enrollment will be challenging for us all.

Many of our clients will be able to passively renew for 2025, meaning that you will not have to do anything for your coverage to roll over for next year.  However, please schedule an appointment with your servicing agent to assist with your renewal if you had changes to any of the following:

  • Changes to household size

  • Change to income

  • Changes due to moving / relocating

Lauren Howell joined our company on a temporary basis last year and joined full time in February. She will be your primary contact for scheduling appointments.

Skylar, who has been with us for 1.5 years will be handling some of our enrollments and renewals, so if she reaches out, know that we have complete trust in her ability to provide you the same level of service that you have received from either Ben or David.

Blue Cross Blue Shield will once again be our go-to carrier for your individual coverage as they continue to provide excellent offerings including:

  • They have plans in every county.

  • They are the most extensive provider network.

  • Every SC hospital is “in network” with them.

  • Their plans are extremely cost competitive in the market

  • All their plans offer Blue Care On Demand (telemedicine) and online account access using My Health Toolkit at www.southcarolinablues.com.

One significant change for 2026 plans will be the elimination of COVID era Enhanced subsidies. This allowed anyone over 400% of the Federal Poverty Level to receive subsidies, thus reducing their premium. That provision is scheduled to end at the end of 2025 unless Congress does something in the upcoming budget. This will have a major impact in that many will lose subsidies altogether, while anyone that has flexible income could be faced with a significant tax burden if their final household income in 2026 is greater than 400% of the FPL.

Please review the table below. If your household income is close to (or above) the 400% numbers below, please schedule a time so we can discuss options.

Dental & Vision Plans

Dental health is vital to your overall health and well-being. Dental plans are not included in your health insurance plan but can be purchased separately.  We have plan options that will allow coverage to begin the next day and provides immediate coverage (no waiting periods) for all levels of dental services.  Plans available are In Network only as well as plans that allow you to see any dentist.

Vision plans can be purchased in conjunction with a dental plan or as a stand-alone.  These vision plans cover both exams as well as eye glasses and lenses or contacts.

We recommend that you make sure you check the network providers and pick the plan that allows you to see any dentist if your dentist is not in network.
